hey to everyone reading this, I want to color the hood and the doors a certain color and i want to put text on them but it just gets coved up by the paint and just not clean lines. I am using paint.net.

i use Paint.NET also, what i do before i paint the whole car i paint the areas i'm putting decals on then i use paint brush when i'm done and go around the decals, but before i do that, i use paint bucket to and paint the entire background the colour i want my car to be.

I add images and text last. though i use PS:cs5 and layer everything so i can move and modify things easily
