Planning on getting gtx 1070

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I wanted to know if I was to get bottlenecked or my motherboard was incompatible with the GTX 1070

Current specs:

i7 4790 (not k)

GTX 960 2gb

16 gb ram (12 usable)

700w power supply

Gigabyte b-85 motherboard

Thx for the help :)

I believe since you are currently using a GXT 960  you should be able to fit and use a GTX 1070. I use a 1070 and here are my specs to compare

I5 6500
MSI GTX 1070 8GB
16GB RAM
 500W PSU
Asus Z170-AR.

if your replying to me Please @0taku or Quote me so I get a notification

Will my motherboard be able to handle it?

@bur587 Looking at the specs of the MB on the Gigabyte site and cross checking some things over on Nivida site. I believe it should work, however my knowledge of Motherboards isn't the best. If you have a local computer parts retail I would suggest asking them because they might know alot more then I do.

Alright :)

I don't see why it wouldn't.  It has PCI-E slot, same one you're using for you GTX 960.  Never heard of a motherboard bottlenecking a video card... you should be fine.

I'm pretty sure it comes with the adapter, but just double check before you buy.
