Mods folder not effective

Featured Replies

Hi,

After running LSPDFR successfully for a while I've attempted to place modded vehicles and uniforms for the first time yesterday, and am running into problems.

Following instructions from a Dutch Police pack I've created a Mods folders in the root directory of the game (in my case D:\games\Grand Theft Auto V\) and copied some folders and files into it (rpf-files to me altered).

After the first attempt to load new vehicles and uniforms into the corresponding files using OpenIV 2.8, I noticed that most of the editted files have disappeared. I checked my anti-virus and anti-mallware software; no files deleted or quarantined. Weird, right?
The second time around the files did remain, GTAV loaded without errors, but no changes to the game were made. That made me wonder; how does the game know to use the mods folder instead of the files in their original location? Does this require any alterations I haven't read about maybe?
I've tried customizing the same files in the original locations, but even after making minor changes (replace one vehicle) the game won't start anymore (no detailed error unfortunately), also when bypassing RAGEPluginHook (application crash). But I guess the large mods folder wasn't made up for nothing, so I abandoned my attempts.

I'd still like to use some of the many great mods on this site, so I hope someone can help me out. Am I doing something wrong, is OpenIV not working properly, am I not using the right combination of utilities?
Thanks in advance!

Software details:
OS: Windows 7 Enterprise x64 SP1
Game version: 1.0.757.4
LSPDFR version: 0.31
RAGEPluginHook version: 0_41_965_8352_ALPHA

Have you installed 'ASI Loader' and 'OpenIV.asi' from OpenIV ASI Manager?

Wow, I didn't expect a reply that soon. Awesome.

Since I don't know about the OpenIV ASI Manager at all (yet), my answer would be no. I'm gonna check this out and will let you know of the outcome.
Thanks.
