So as the title suggests, I fire up GTA V after about a week's break, it wants me to update. No bigge I think, just a small one.

Well, once it supposedly finishes, the launcher quits and I get an error message "Grand Theft Auto V Launcher Has Stopped Working"
Frustrated, I try again. Same result, it tries to update, and the same error message pops up. I run with administrator rights, same thing. I restart my pc. I verify game files. I remove my 'mods' folder, etc, and same thing happens again.

So, last time I played was on February 28th, game worked fine as always. Then I return today, March 4th, and this happens.
What gives here? Is it the update? My mods have been working perfectly fine before, never ever experienced any CTDs, so there cannot possibly be a mod interference.

Basically, my game tries to update every time I try to launch it. Will that have an effect on my game at all? I don't know if this last update was an essential one, as I haven't read about it anywhere. As far as I am concerned, the latest version is still 1.0.617.1.

Any help is very appreciated. I just finished all my assignments at university, and I really just want to relax with some gaming right now.

I had this once for 3 damn months, but I then moved over to my new PC and the problem has never bugged me. That seems to be a ghost update, I think.
