Ragehook Not Starting Up on Launch (FIXED)

Featured Replies

Recently I updated GTA V and boom all of a sudden RPH doesn't seem to be working.

So I reinstalled, installed the RPH (0.36) and LSPDFR 0.3 and RPH doesn't seem to be loading any plugins.

I've tried:

  1. Try launching again. The crash may have been a fluke.
  2. MAKE SURE YOU MEET THE REQUIREMENTS
  3. Read the Readme.txt file.
  4. Kill Fraps.
  5. Right click all .exe and .dll files that comes with RAGE Plugin Hook, click Properties, then click the Unblock button.
  6. Run RAGEPluginHook.exe as Administrator (Right click > Run as Administrator).
  7. Uninstall any other mods that comes with .asi, .dll or .exe files (All, or one by one, to identify which one is causing a conflict).
  8. Disable or uninstall anything that may interfere or otherwise modify the game besides RAGE Plugin Hook, including, but not limited to, anti-virus, anti-malware, Nvidia Shadowplay and other recording tools and/or overlays (Steam, xfire, etc.).
  9. Make sure .NET Framework 4.6 or later is installed.
  10. Make sure the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) are installed.
  11. Make sure the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 (x64) are installed.

Making sure I run RPH as admin

No antivirus / Firewall blocking it

What in the heck is killing RPH before it even gets through the gates?

****FIX****

RPH WILL TAKE THE FIRST GTA V FOLDER SO KEEPING IT NAMED GrandTheft Auto V will give it priority and RPH will see it before the other folders.

In my case where I don't use the mod folder method.

  • No, the issue is the two different folders. So you need to rename the X:\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V to X:\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V - Vanilla or similar, then rename X:\

  • Aye it worked.

I had a problem like that. is your VSync on? Don't know if thats the issue with you. I had to turn it on half and it worked.

Thats interesting! I'll try it out. Update in 5 mikes. Also assuming you mean changing the Vsync setting in GTA itself and not through RPH (Not even sure if you can)

@BVOJackalI have same problem, according to ragepluginhook.net if you are running the updated GTA V and RPH 36 then It is crashing for some reason. I hope they have update soon. Only fix is downgrading your game back if you have a backup(I don't) and using RPH 34 with the downgrade. Just go to ragepluginhook.net and the info is on that home page.

@OfficerLando Awuh hell... I don't have a back up. So we have to wait? But...but...but... Lando :( Gotta wait for 0.37 Then I take it?

So your saying when you click on RPH it does nothing?  Has it ever done anything such as asking you to unblock .dll files?

Post a screen shot of your root directory.

What's the path of your installed GTA5 there?

Finding that out in another thread :)

X:\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V LSPDFR

X:\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V

Don't tell me that them both being in \common is my issue? x)

The game looks for the install path in the registry and it's going to load the game from that path no matter where you launch RagePluginHook from. In your case that is X:\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V

lol, to be fair, he doesn't.  He posted on someone else thread with what he thought was the same issue.  No biggy.  I am guessing he doing what was suggested now and is pulling people over for no reason what so ever.

Well, he quoted me... so I replied. Why does he have two active threads? LOL.

Wasn't too sure if my problem was similar which is why.
