ELS problem

Featured Replies

I am new to modding in IV and I just did a quick 2010 charger with a legacy light bar and a dash light. Problem is certain lights have a texture on them of the light color where it should be clear. Part of the lightbar and the whole dashlight is like this. If I start the car it becomes the ELS bright always on.

I learned some more into it, and it turns out I can't just label extra 1-9 whatever I want. Must be 1-9 and then if extras, attach

However if you might know, I want to add wig-wag to my silverado for the reverse lights and the fog lights. Bad news is I can't get the fog lights to flash light, only the texture. (Reverse lights work perfect)

It sounds like you need to make sure the lights you want to flash are assigned to a lightsemissive material. I also would direct you to the tutorials section in order for you to see how the extras heirarchy should be set up.

I'll just explain. First of all, you can not have any more than 1 single mesh with the same name, so you can't have two bonnet_L0s etc.

ELS uses extras 1-9 to spawn and despawn to imitate flashing emergency lights. They have to be setup like this:

extra_1 (this is just a dummy)

- extra_1_L0

- extra_1_L1

You follow that patter for extras 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, and 8.

However 5, 6, and 9 are different.

extra_5 (this is just a dummy)

- extra5_L0

- extra5_L1

For whatever reason the game needs the first underscore to be removed.

So make sure all of the lights you want to flash at the same time are attached to one single object and named properly.

Is the whole copied dummy thing a big deal? I copied, renamed and then just put the lights under it. Here's my setup http://prntscr.com/98um80

Good news is I got the truck in game with lights working. I need to rearrange my lighting because the flash pattern is all off but that's no biggie. Question now is I've seen on "1997Chevyboy"s wall his 00' Silverado has flashing fog lights but a lot better. Why is my flash so dim and in the wrong area? http://prntscr.com/98usel

Like how can I get less of this: http://prntscr.com/98uxaf and more of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usHx8FAXZMk

First off, it seems as if he is not using the foglight for the flashing, but is using the extra 5 and 6 dummies?

Secondly, your hierarchy looks fine other than your extra5 doesn't seem to be named correctly. P.M. me if you still have troubles.
