Trying an older version won't do anything for him, you need to run the installer as admin and check that your directories are not read only.

Go to the gtaiv or grand theft auto iv folder in your program files (probably in a folder called rockstar games), right click the folder, go to properties and un-check read only, then click apply and ok.

Try running the game its self .exe as admin (LaunchGTAIV.exe).

If you have dsound.dll so change to xfire or if you have xlive so change to dsound.dll.

to see what you have go in "C:Program Files (x86)Rockstar Games GTAIV" ot if you have steam so C:Program Files (x86)Steam Steamapps/common/grandtheftautoiv/gtaiv" to change it when you delete dsound/xlive and download lcpdfr again and you choose what loader you will have.

Sorry for my bad english but I try to help

Ok, i done as you said.. re installed it. Loaded it as admin... block box appeared and then it went to load... then crashed.

It didn't crash so quick as last time but it still crashed.

Any more advice or am i just fucked?

Would it be even worth it re-installing everything?
