[Help!] LCPDFR Won't start! [Help!]

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

I've got this mayor problem, which I honestly have no idea about how to fix. Here it is:

I recently preformed a clean install on my computer. I basically reinstalled windows. It's an embedded version, what means that I had to update all the drivers myself.

I installed the needed software, and after a while I decided to install steam, and on steam, install my (legally purchased) GTA IV: EFLC. It downloaded no problemo, and it ran good. I closed it, and downloaded the newest version of LCPDFR (1.1 I suppose, don't quote me on it, I'm not sure :P). I installed GFWL, and all the other required software needed to run LCPDFR, but when I pressed ALT+P, it did not work.

Now after a lot of searching, I gave up. I was smart, and tried pressing the ~ key, right above the TAB, to open the scripthook console. This didn't work. Now I know that LCPDFR requires scripthook to run all of its components, but scripthook itself just didn't work. It is the scripthook, installed by the LCPDFR installer itself.

After a few days, I decided to download a newer version of scripthook, version 1.7.1.7b. As I loaded the game, it immediately told me, that there was a mayor problem with my LCPDFR, and that it has crashed.

What do I have to do? I tried reinstalling it, and I tried it on my (also legally purchased) GTA IV.

Thanks in advance,

Daniel

Hello there -- welcome to LCPDFR.com and thanks for trying out LCPDFR!

Please do the following:

  • Make sure you aren't using a crack - We don't support cracks or people using pirated software
  • Update GTA IV to 1.0.7.0 (the latest version of the game, or 1.1.2.0 for EFLC) - These patches are needed.
  • Make sure that you run the game as an administrator.
  • Make sure that your GTA IV root folder (and every subdirectory) is not set to "read-only"
  • Ensure that AdvancedHook.dll, ScriptHook.dll, ScriptHookDotNet.asi and Dsound.dll OR Xlive.dll are in the GTA IV ROOT folder
  • Ensure that there is a folder titled 'LCPDFR' in the ROOT GTA IV folder.
  • Check that all the above files exist, if they do not, reinstall LCPDFR with the MANUAL installation.
  • Ensure that you are using up to date versions of every LCPDFR dependency and LCPDFR itself.
  • Install these: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653 , https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679

In some cases, your issue is resolved after following the above steps. If it did help, please let everyone know in the topic that your issue is resolved. If you do have to post a topic, do the following;

  • Give a clear, detailed description of the problem.
  • Explain any circumstances surrounding the problem.
  • State what solutions you have tried.
  • Post ALL relevant logs (LCPDFR.log, Scripthook.log, ScriptHookDotNet.log, AdvancedHook.log).
  • Include as much information as possible.
  • Post your system specifications.
  • Post what other mods you are using. This includes car and script mods.
  • Post a screenshot of your GTA IV or EFLC game directory.

Please note that failure to follow these instructions may cause this thread to be closed.

Hello CouthInky,

Thank you for your quick reply, I really do appreciate that.

I installed all of those files, checked if the files were present (which was the case), patched the game and made sure it was the newest version of LCPDFR. It still does not work. I will post the logs, and give you a clear detailed explanation what I did.

I have installed all the files and GTA IV. I ran it once before I installed LCPDFR. I went to the site and downloaded no other mods than LCPDFR 1.1 automatic installer. I ran the installer, checked if the path was all right, which was the case, and I edited the configuration by running the LCPDFR configuration tool. I launched the game, where I came into the game where I completed one mission, the one I did when I tested the game out, and pressed ALT-P. The only thing that happened was that the sight became a bit blurry. When I pressed it again, it was clear again. I tried pressing the key above TAB, the ~ key, to open up the scripthook console, which did not happen. I closed the game the normal way.

Now, I know that my pc is able to run the game, as I played LCPDFR before I reinstalled Windows.

The logs will be attatched to this reply.

Can you please provide a Screenshot of your game directory, by the sounds of it you've installed something wrong.
