GTA V DRM Problems

Featured Replies

Hello,

I know that if you don't want GTA V to update on launch to overwrite mods, you use the mods folder, etc. I have tried that time and time again and every time I get "GTA V has stopped working" when I launch the game. Instead I have blocked GTA V from the internet, and install mods using Open IV right into the game files like most readme files suggest.

The problem is that GTA V has "Periodic Entitlement Verification" in which you CANNOT use the game if it has not checked for updates and "reactivated" itself every few days.

My solution to that was to keep the internet connected until right after it activated, then unplug the internet before it updates to overwrite my mods.

A patch was just released, and now it seems that when you launch GTA V, entitlement verification is the LAST step in the launch process, so no matter what, you have to update.

I now have to reinstall the game because I am getting "GTA V has stopped working" upon launch."

Any tips?

Thanks.
