Issues using Open IV to mod cars

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm having a little issue (and it's probably because I'm doing it wrong) but for some reason when I try use Open IV to mod a car, it shows the new car but once I go in game the car is back to the original version. I have tried making the mods folder and copying x64e.rpf and editing that file using Open IV however I still have the same issue. Any help would be awesome!

Thanks!

Hello,

Can you tell me which car you're trying to replace? And witch car mod?

PS: this topic needs to be in GTA 5 support.

I know, I just realized that I posted in the wrong support group. I am trying to replace:

  • police2.yft
  • police2.ytd
  • police2_hi.yft
  • police2+hi.ytd

I am trying to replace it with one of the cars that I got off of here, so they both have the same files names and all. I'm just not 100% what step I'm missing.

This is the car that I'm trying to get in my game:

Yes, there is your problem. This car needs to be installed in /update/x64/dlspacks/patchday3ng/dlc.rpf/x64/levels/gta5/vehicles.rpf

Not in x64e

I tried putting it in there also, but the same issue happens. Are there other patchday files that I need to put it in? Also I noticed when you replace a car in the actual patchday folder itself using Open IV the game will repair the file back to normal when you launch it. Do I need to install the mod in the mods folder with the same directory as the original file?

It does not restore if you have the update.rpf in your mods folder.

Do you have all the required .asi files installed? in OpenIV go to Tools > ASI Manager and make sure both of those are installed.

NZXT H440, Windows 10, Core i7-4970k, MSI GTX 970, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 600W Corsair PSU

Yes, I have both of them installed also. I've learned that I can change other police cars just not police2 for some reason. Now the issue I am having is when I go in game, the car that I downloaded is a different color. Using Simple Native Trainer to change the color doesn't help either.
