How Do I Install Car Mods Properly ???(PLEASE HELP!)

Hey I have been trying to install some car mods using open Iv. I noticed when i attempted to change the files my game kept updating, I saw on here that when you change the vanila game files the game will keep updating so i want to know how to install the car mods the right way.
