MODS FOLDER

Featured Replies

Can someone please explain to me the purpose of this folder and how I make one. I have read a lot about this recently and heard that it protects stuff from updates. Please let me know what it's about and how to create one.

It is to protect your files if your game updates, so you do not lose all your mods, and it is helpful if you need to revert to an older game update if a new one breaks modding, and it can be dsabled to be able to play in online.

you make it by adding a new folder named mods in your GTA v directory.

you can put directories in their i.e update rpf or x64e rpf in there.

I used to not use it, but I am glad I did.

Soo it just loads from the mods folder. Thats pretty neat. I'll have to reinstall my game to get the default files back so I can just use my mod folder then right...

Yeah, only works for .RPF file edits... so any mod that has to be in the GTA5 root folder (ENB, SweetFX, whatever else) will have to be managed manually or by other means (I write my own batch files)

Awesome, I appreciate it. I'll just be backing them up on an external.
