Open your GTA V commandline file (called commandline.txt) and add the following to it "-scOfflineOnly" (without the quotes), this will force GTA V to load social club in offline mode

Use your command prompt hit start and type in cmd. Then type in ipconfig /release - this'll turn off your internet connection temporarily. When you're done playing type in ipconfig /renew and it will restore the connection.

This works for me, I have retail version, non steam.

Okay thank you, guys!  Is the alternative option to backup all files and then update the game better?

So this didn't work for me.

I have signed in online and then once I do that one time it will allow me to sign in an offline mode because it I've already signed in online and verified my game. BUT there are certain mode that I will apply and then next time I start the game I have to sign in online again. It will not allow me to sign in offline because it doesn't seem to think I've done that already. Of course if I sign in online again it updates and then non of my mods work.

Has anyone else experienced this? I've been looking all through the forms and I couldn't find anything. I'd love some help here. Thanks!
