Couple Questions (Traffic stops, callouts, etc.)

Featured Replies

Hey, first off I hope everyone else is enjoying the mod so far, very excited for the future of it. 8)

Couple questions, I had problems installing the RAGE plugin at first, (would just screenfreeze when pressing F4) and ended up resolving it by installing the newest version of ragehook. (which came out today? or yesterday, can't remember) Anyway I just want to make sure some of these problems aren't because of that, and to gauge how other people are feeling and what they're doing so far.

1. In LCPDFR, upon pulling people over I normally threw my lights on with no siren and then I would play the siren for a sec to sound the driver to pull over, at this point I would activate the traffic stop (SHIFT). To me, it was very realistic doing this as it felt like a real traffic stop. Unfortunately I'm not getting that in this game, and wondering how you all do traffic stops?

Basically what happens for me is I drive behind a car, throw the lights on (no siren) and the cars in front of me tend to pretty much just stop in place, creating an awkward moment. Then when I press Shift to pull the person over, they usually just tend to stop pretty much where they are in the road and usually avoid any major pulling over function.

2. What do you guys do during traffic stops? Since at the moment we just have the framework of the mod there really isn't a whole lot you can do during these. How do you enhance your experience during these? And at the moment is asking someone to step out pretty much used just to arrest? (Since the ped seems to walk away like GTA IV) Is there any way to interact with them after doing so?

3. I tend to find people on the sidewalk who I can arrest 'in a civil way' Is there any way to do so without shoving a gun down their throat? For example, in LCPDFR you could aim at someone and arrest them without having your gun out

4. Can you manually start a callout? Or is there any way end one? I had a callout start glitched where an armored kamura spawned halfway inside the ground under a bridge, Eventually I got lucky by crashing into it so many times I glitched it into the sewer river where all the guys inside drowned.

5. How do i spawn the taser/other weapons without a trainer!?!? All the gun shops and accessible buildings are locked off (unfortunately) and you are unable to enter

Thanks for reading!

You can't arrest pedestrians that haven't been related to an incident yet as far as I believe, for example a traffic stop or callout. If you Press 'X' it will force a callout. And as far as I'm aware you cannot spawn a tazer without a trainer.

1) To pull someone over: You press whatever the sprint button is ('a' for the controller, shift for keyboard) while in your crusier, and the vehicle in front of you is marked with a red blip on the map. You can then stop them by activating your lights and/or siren to make them pull over. Its actually exactly what you did in LCPDFR but smoother now (except sometimes they don't pull over in a good spot). You shouldn't turn your lights on before pressing shift/'a', as it works better this way. If they pull over somewhere stupid, you can just honk your horn to make them pull over somewhere new.

2) I usually just do the callouts, but I'll sometimes write people a ticket/arrest them if I see them swerving or speeding while just driving around. It's pretty bare-bones now but you can make up some RP in your head.

3) As of right now, you can only arrest people using the gun. This will probably change in a later release.

4) You can press 'X' to force a callout, and can press 'Y' to accept the available callout. You either have to arrest/kill everyone marked with a red blip or restart the plugin to end a callout, as far as I know.

5) You can't edit your weapons without a trainer at the moment. Hopefully this is expanded on in the next release, and it's likely they'll add the taser in as well (I was surprised it wasn't available, too)

I suggest you read the PDF that came with the download. It's not a complete reference, but it does explain most of what you asked about.
