6 speaker headphone question

Recommended Posts

So, a few days ago, I bought a six speaker headphone on amazon (link)

and then I tried using it, nice sound.but no bass
so I need some better bass (any ideas?)

next question: I can see all 6 speakers (3 in each cup) but I don't think that all of them work on games (like GTA IV) and so I need a video to test them and if they don't work I need some ideas. I tried Razer Synapse's test, looks like the heli is going round, but still in doubt.

Thanks.

Are the headphones firmly plugged into your computer, specifically in the right port (there may be two ports that are very similar, one for headphones and one for speakers)?

Otherwise, did the headphones come with software? Did you try adjusting bass and treble levels in your sound card control panel?

Also, if all 6 speakers in the headphones work with music or videos, they should work in games, since there's no difference there.

I'll make an audio test wavefile for ya. Give me a few minutes. Will edit in when done.

Edit: Done.

20, 50, 100, 250, 440, 750, 1000, 2500, 5000 Hz samples each at -4 dBFS for 0.8 seconds, with 0.2 seconds of silence between. Left channel, then right channel. Spectrograph in spoiler, if you want to see what tones it'll do for yourself.

You should know that the last two tones may be considered painful by some to listen to, though.

No the headphones didn't come with any software.

Yes, it is plugged into correct location (or I would have died so many times in CS:GO) seriously the sound can be heard. I want to know any test that tests all 6 speakers.

and can I know how to adjust bass and treble levels in Realtek Audio Control? Btw the bass worked in @EvilJackCarver's post. So no problem in bass then I guess.

Thanks @EvilJackCarver, but the file only tested my left and right (not the front ones nor the rear) and it worked. I have another problem (no need for solution, as there is a workaround) that my headphones say L and R but they are mixed, like on L side there is R side audio and vise-versa. So I only turn the headphone 180 degree (as I can't turn my head 180...

I was afraid it'd be separate channels. I know what's going on now.

Your headphones are picking up channels A and B (left and right) but they're either not picking up or not having a signal sent to the C, D, E, or F channels.. Not many things will support that many audio channels (stereo's still the standard these days) so only things which support 6 channels will play through all six speakers.

While playing GTA IV I think sometimes it played through the rear and front speakers. but I need something to verify... And while testing on Razer Synapse it looks as if it is using all 6 speakers.

and can I know how to adjust bass and treble levels in Realtek Audio Control?

I have Realtek HD as well. Plug your headphones in, search for "realtek hd audio manager" in your start menu (Windows 7 or lower) or in the charm bar (Windows 8), open it, then under Speakers go to Sound Effects. Here, you can test the presets, or click 1pmQfce.png to mess with the sliders. This is how I have mine set up:

Generally speaking, the sliders to the left control the bass and the ones more to the right control the treble, but I suggest going through each until you find the right sound quality for you (that's what I did).
