I got GTA V on DVD and recently due to the whole malware mod situation, I formatted and reinstalled Windows. I had GTA V installed on my SSD, so it is all still there, but now when I go to run it I get errors (as expected) that certain things are missing from my computer. Is there any way to "repair" the install to fix what is missing or do I need to install clean?

You're probably missing some C++ tools. Did the game tell you what's missing or something like that? What error message do you get?

It just starts installing the game again, basically ignoring the existing installation. I ended up just installing it again to also fix the fact that the game did not install itself in a folder but just in the root of my SSD.

Ok, try this: Go into the game's files. Double click "GTAVLauncher". If that doesn't work, double click GTA5.

I'm not completley sure if that'll work, as I use the steam version

Thanks but like I said--it's all set now. I do remember trying that and all that would happen was the game loader would open up and just start redownloading the game. I decided to just reinstall to fix the problem that the game was installed in the root of my SSD making a mess.

I could really use your help with this new problem though: http://www.lcpdfr.com/topic/50648-lua-not-working/
