Clan VS. Gaming Group

Featured Replies

I think a lot of clans take themselves too seriously. I've never been in one though and I really would like to join a group of people to play LCPDFR with because I too am a loner and have no friends that play LCPDFR. Id like to sometimes be serious but also mess arounds at times. If anyone is thinking about making a community let me know. I dont want to be "interviewed" and asked stupid questions like "explain why you we should accept you in our group" or "why our group" Like i'm supposed to tell you a heartfelt story of why its my lifes ambition to serve the AI of gta 4.

Clans are a magnet for pointless drama, I'd avoid them at all costs.

With the amount of clans already out there, you're probably better off joining an existing one. However, I would personally recommend you to just play with friends. That way, you can play with the mod

just starting a clan on your own is not a good idea, you should at least start with some friends. oh and I prefer a gaming group because you dont really have rules in there and stuff, you can just pla

In all seriousness, though, I get what you're saying; I just don't know if I'd join a LCPDFR Clan/Community, because I can be pretty quiet over comms/voice chat for any game until I'm comfortable with the people I'm playing with. (Insurgency comes to mind, where I usually won't start using voice until I've been playing for 10 to 15, maybe 20 minutes; and even then, it takes a bit for me to warm up to people.)

Don't get me wrong; I love roleplaying, and the idea of doing patrols with people is pretty neat, but there's so much that can go wrong if you don't have the right kind of people in your group, and I'm just too quiet for that sort of thing. (What I'm trying to say is: make sure the people you play with are the kind of people you can get along with, not people you'll end up arguing with over every little thing. Otherwise, it ruins the whole experience.)

Of course I cannot speak for every member of other community but I can definitely say that I have made some brilliant friends over my time within clans. Yes there is the wee bit of drama here and there but, it's life, you can't go through life without drama.

We are a group of friends that do take things seriously during patrols but when it comes to having some downtime, you can usually find us on other games or enjoying some races and so on.

It really does just depend on where you join and what you want to do.

I made a clan... Forgot about it for 2 weeks and it went to shit.

So don't.

Make.

One.

By.

Yourself.

By now I don't even get close to clans.. Ugh, just a bunch of shitty rules and stuff, modding communities are okay.
