GTA IV crashes after 10-20 minutes. [TOPIC IS CLOSED]

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I am relatively new to LCPD:FR,but quite familiar with the procedures required to install mods on GTA IV.
As the topic states, after installing varius mods on GTA IV (including LDPD:FR offcourse) the game crashes after about 15-20 minutes, in some cases it crashes instantly (e.g. when requesting back up,or requesting transport for someone I arrest).
I am posting the mods I use and the order I installed them, my PC specs,Problem signature and Advancedhook, Scripthook,LCPDFR logs.
I should note that Microsoft's .Net Framework 4.5 , C++ Redistributable 2012 , DirectX runtimes and the GTA IV patch are up to date and that I run the game as Admin via shortcut with the "-norestrictions" command line on the shortcut's "Target".

Thanks for helping me.

Have you tried a fresh install of the game and adding mods one by one, testing each until they crash?

Thank you for your reply.

No I haven't tried that, but until I do,I would like to ask you an other question.

I downloaded and replaced " .Net ScriptHook" and "dsound.dll" from "hazardx.com" just in case those I have from the mods were outdated. But after replacement,LCPD:FR encountered an error loading...do you have any idea on why that happened?(Tell me If you need any .log)

Offcourse i backed up those files and now is running. But crashes, for the same reasons, are still inevitable..

Make sure you have the latest scripthook. Older versions (even from a year ago) are not always compatible.

The LCPDFR one should be the latest.

I re-installed everything. I discovered that ELS v8 might causing trouble because LCPDFR crashes after I replace AdvancedHook.dll, dsound.dll and ScriptHook.dll with those comming with the ELS v8 pack.

But the problem is whene I scip to replace those files and live those comming from LCPDFR, the game runs but after 20 minutes I have the problems tha I discribe on the topic.

Any idea?

Also I updated the topic with the Diagnostics Log after the LCPDFR's crash If you want to check it out..

I must say to all of you reading this post, that I believe I found the problem.

There is nothing wrong with LCPD:FR, neither ELS v8.

Is just that, when LCPD:FR states that is NOT compatible with third party mods, they really mean it.

And by that,I mean, after countless experiments with the way and order I install mods, I figured out that several mods, mainly those who replaces police vehicles and police uniforms, may cause for some reason that I don't know, LCPD:FR to crash.

Some mods can work with LCPD:FR, some others just can't.

Usualy is not your installation of LCPD:FR nor your pc specs, is just that this particular mod we are using at the time, is not friendly with LCPD:FR on certain actions, in my case, when calling for suspect's transfer after an arrest.

So, in conclusion, keep trying and experimenting with different mods, and see which one "fits" you.
