ELS v8 - Where to attach extras if there is no lightbar?

Featured Replies

Hi guys

This is kind of a complicated question to ask but here goes:

If I have only interior lighting and no lightbar on the top of the vehicle, where would I attach the extras to? I usually attach all the extras that are for everything BUT the lightbar to the lightbar on the top of the vehicle. I'm not sure what I would attach those extras to if I don't have an external lightbar?

If you have multiple of the same extra you just need to attach the same extras to each other. It does not need to be attached to a lightbar, just the same extras. For example, if you have multiple extra_4_L0s you would attach them all together and put them inside of an extra_4 dummy.

What exactly is a "Dummy" anyways? I'm not quite sure what you mean by a dummy. :P I'm still new to the whole modding scene

It's essentially a grouping tool for keeping parts in check. In Zmodeler, click the little arrow next to the blue cone and click Dummy Helper, once selected simply click on it and it will create a new dummy. From here, just rename the dummy to whatever you need (ex. extra_x) and then put the appropriate parts inside of that dummy directory.

Okay, ty. I have another problem though lol. So I'm using Bxbugs' whelen edge 9000 lightbar, and I edited the 2 emerglightse and emerglightsemissive texture files to change up the colors to red and amber. (Working on an F350 plow truck thing ;) ) and for some reason it appears that the BACK RIGHT white light is hooked up to the secondary lighting and not the warning light stage. not sure why. any ideas?

Just took some screenshots IG with Fraps of the weird lighting issues.

I'd take a video but my PC can't handle it. There is about ~10 pics so I just compressed them into a .RAR.

This would be down to the extra that the module is hooked up to, find it and attach it to either extra_5 or extra_6. If it's already attached to a different extra, you'll have to duplicate it and then delete the different parts in each copy before reattaching to extra_5 or 6.
