Can i use a car in another slot if it is optimize for police2 and have els still work right?

If you mean placing a police car in a civilian slot, and you unlocked it in the _SLOTCONTROL.ini file, it will have siren and ELS lights, but you won't be able to pull people over.

If you mean placing a police car that was optimized for police2 but you want to place it in, let's say, pstockade, it'll work just like another police car, but you will have to change the line in the vehicle.ide file in the commondata folder so the car will have the perfomances of a regular car and not a big fat truck.

 

Try to clarify a bit your question if that's not what you meant, it's not really easy to understand what you mean with so few information.

By "optimized" some people mean that it was just named police2.wtd/police2.wft or something. And I think he means just another police slot.

 

But yeah, to put police2 in, for example, like Hystery said, pstockade:

The two lines for both types of vehicles. Take everything after the second "police2" and put it like so:

pstockade, 	pstockade,	car,		POLICE2,	POLICE2,	VEH@STD,	VEH@STD_RI1,		100,	999,		0.2348,	0.2348,		0.2,	2,	1.0	,1,	ext_requi+ext_strong

All you really have to do is change "police2.wft" to something like "police.wft".

 

It will work that way, but it will work even better if you do something like ian said.

What I mean is in the read me file it says both cars are optimize for police2 but the els on the car in the noose slot doesnt seem to flash correctly I put the els configuration file in the els folder and put it on noose slot so I'm stumped I'll try your suggestion when I get home

If you are talking about a lightbar with rotators (NYPD for example) you must put it in police, police2, or police3 because they are the only car slots in GTA that register as having rotating lights. I do not know if the vehicle.ide can change this but as far as I know you must use those three slots.
