Game needs xlive.dll to work...

Featured Replies

Hey guys I recently wasn't able to open my game and finally came up to see that in some cases the game needs xlive.dll to work, how can I fix this? I want to play online, but I read somewhere that xlive.dll is not compatible with online it will just not work, Thank you!

Well, you need to have dsound and GFWL Client. You can find dsound in the folder called "LCPDFR Install (ASI Loaders)" if you have LCPDFR. Simply copy dsound from the folder into your GTA IV directory.  Remove xlive.dll and replace it with dsound.dll. Also you may need to verify your activation key through xbox's wesbite. (I did anyway.) I hope this helps.

Yes I understand thank you, but what i'm saying is that since the patch 1.0.7.0, I have gotten from Rockstar, My game needs xlive.dll to work, so I was wondering if there was something to do to fix this so I am able to play online, Thanks!

Does your game have a certain error message when trying to load GTA IV?
