So, i want to put windows 7 on my windows 8 desktop. My desktop came with windows 8 pre-installed and i have a windows 7 installation disk that i want to use on my desktop. Well if i try to install windows 7 to my hard drive that came with windows 8 it gives me some kind of error saying that i can't install windows 7 to this specific drive, So to solve this error i was able to put my laptops hard drive into the desktop and begin installing windows 7 there, how ever during the installation it gave me an error saying something like "windows 7 cannot be installed on this PC" well to fix this problem i put the hard drive back in my laptop and did the install on my laptop when the install was done i was able to put the drive back into my desktop and launch windows 7 however when it would load to the desktop it would give me a windows 7 BSOD instantly. How can i put windows 7 on my windows 8 desktop is what i am asking.

You're going to need to format the harddrive that is in the PC. Windows 7 Installation should give you an option for this (or to delete the partition).

I have done this when installing it the first time. I wiped the drive clean and formatted it.
