Do you have a GTA IV Disc or is it a steam download?

Yes, i use GTA IV Disc

Ok, first backup your good saves. Then put the disc in and run it. You should have a reinstall option. If not, go to your CP (Control Panel) and uninstall it from there. Then run the disc. Please also click the up arrow if I am helping you :). My little reward.

try deleting the whole Grand Theft Auto IV folder.

REMEMBER: I am not responsible for any save data loss.

Then it has to be a mod you have installed. Could you please list the mods you have installed?

Hi.

I have just brought gta iv today. I've been waiting for our internet to reset so i can get it off steam, i loaded it up the first time and it worked like a charm. put lcpdfr v6 on, els v6 on, a siren mod on and a police car mod on. i was pumped to play it because this is the only reason i brought the game, i load it up, it comes up to the 2nd display of copyright writing and it sits there, i go to task manager and it says its running good, but when i go to get back into it turns into a black screen.

-brought on steam

-have not saved any games

-installed 4 mods

-i have everything required for lcpdfr

After i tried to install some add-on cars in my vehicle.img, my GTA IV starts to crash

When i click start, and after loading.. It will keep saying The program is not responding despite trying many times.. HELP !

Did u played ever played the game whit the mod ?

If yes , did u save the game while on duty ?

If yes , there is your problem !

U corrupted the Save Game !

Now If all the questions where yes do this :

Go to MyComputer/C:/Users/YOU/MyDocuments/RockstarGames/GTAIV/savegames ! And delete all including ControlMap.dat

And Then go to MyComputer/C:/Users/YOU/AppData/RockstarGames/GTAIV/savegames/user_(here are some numbers) Then delete all then go back and click user_invalid and delete all !

If u cant see the Folder "AppData" Just go on the top of the page and click on "Organize" Then Options Of search and folder" < something like this then in top of the page that wil pop up click on the 2 option where is the "see" and "general" and "search" click on see or 2 option (sorry my PC is in other language) ok then where is written "advanced settings" near down the is a text saying something like this Show Hiden folders or something like this click there !

Hope This Helps !

Its all really easy, if you use Windows 7, just go to your start button and search up "Uninstall a Program" without quotes and then find GTAIV in there and uninstall. Reinstall, what you will do is after the game is uninstalled, you will put the disc 1 back in and run it again, that will come up to the installation manager and you follow the On Screen Instructions. :)
