Siren Request

Featured Replies

I was wondering if anybody could help me get these sirens to work together correctly. Whenever I try to edit my HORN.ivaud to work with my own mix of sirens one of them starts to make a clicking/grinding noise in game, instead of correct sound. I understand it has to do with the frequency but I'm not sure exactly how to get it working properly.

Generally, it's one of two things. Either A. The frequency is wrong. or B. The file length is too long.

Make sure the frequency is set to 44100 Hz and that the length is no longer than 5 seconds. This should work, but if not, experiment with different frequencies. Sometimes certain tones will only work with certain frequencies, it's a guessing game as to what that frequency is though.

If it can be no longer than 5 seconds, how did Gangrenn get his one siren to be 9 seconds?

Ok thanks for that information. I'm just a bit confused as to why the tone works fine but when I replace a completely different tone that one is affected. In my particular situation I only changed the Police_Warning & Ambulane_Warning and somehow Siren 2 sounds broken. In this case which one do I need to adjust?

You lower the frequency of the tone, I'm not sure which frequency he used but it is possible to have longer sirens at lower frequencies.

Are all those tones the same frequency? Try changing the frequency of one of them to something else.
