LCPDFR as a GTA 5 game add-on?

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, new to the LCPDFR website and modding. I've looked around and haven't found any topic unlocked about this, but I was wondering if any of the guys in charge here at LCPDFR have ever contacted rockstar regarding collaborating on an in-game add-on?

MODERATOR NOTICE

Moving to LCPDFR Discussion as this isn't a problem or a support request for the website at all...

LCPDFR is a free, independent modification and I think we wish to remain that way.

Dang it ini! I had a thing typed up but the topic move deleted it! lol :P

I don't think R* would listen to a few devs for a PC mod, they are way too big to want to do anything with LCPDFR. Also, they don't really support mods. They feature really good ones every now and again on their site, but they don't make it easy by any means for their games to be modded. I had other things I wanted to say, but I forgot them.

Have any of the developers here contacted rockstar, or any video game company/team of developers, to see if this idea could be brought out as an actual video game? This would allow LCPDFR to get the credit/recognition it truly deserves. Right now there are no new games allowing you to be a cop, or better yet to completely personalize the game. You guys are looking at an extremely profitable gaming idea that could really go far.

Sounds like you might be shooting yourself down, I think you guys ought to send out a few emails and just see. If it goes somewhere then awesome, if it doesn't no big deal. But you'll never know unless you guys try it.

I'm pretty sure that Sam has tried to contact R* before, but to no avail, obviously. As previously stated, it doesn't matter if they try, the likelihood of R* recognising and developing a DLC based off of/inspired by LCPDFR is practically nill. Rather than take time to write emails and whatnot, albeit a few minutes here and there, that is less time the devs have to progress the mod into future and better versions. Like ineseri said, this has been brought up before, and Sam himself has made comments on the idea.
