I just wanted to know a couple things about this message i received when i booted up GTA IV, after downloading several mods:

1. Why is this happening?

2 Could it have been from me downloading several mods?

3. Can i fix it?

Mods i downloaded:

PoliceHelper

Breathalyser Mod

Indicator Mod

LCPDFR v1.0c

TrafficFlow

PSS

MedicalExaminer

towService

LCPD Durango

ELS v8.0

WoutersCallouts

Help would be greatly appreciated. If anymore information is needed, i would be glad to give it.

Hello there -- welcome to LCPDFR.com and thanks for trying out LCPDFR.

You failed to read the instructions before posting in this forum. So we'll remind you of them.

Please do the following:

  • Make sure you aren't using a crack - We don't support cracks
  • Update GTA IV to 1.0.7.0 (the latest version of the game, or 1.1.2.0 for EFLC) - This sometimes fixes a wide variety of issues
  • Make sure that you run the game as an administrator.
  • Make sure that your GTA IV root folder (and every subdirectory) is not set to "read-only"
  • Ensure that ScriptHook.dll, ScriptHookDotNet.asi and Dsound.dll OR Xlive.dll are in the GTA IV ROOT folder
  • Ensure that there is a folder titled 'LCPDFR' in the ROOT GTA IV folder.
  • Check that all the above files exist, if they do not, reinstall LCPDFR with the MANUAL installation.
  • Ensure that you are using up to date versions of every LCPDFR dependency and LCPDFR itself.
  • Install these: .Net Framework 4.5Microsoft Visual C++ Redist 2012

If your problem has been solved after following these basic instructions, hit 'Mark Solved' next to this post.

If not, please now reply to this thread, and make sure that you do the following:

  • Give a clear, detailed description of the problem.
  • Explain any circumstances surrounding the problem.
  • State what solutions you have tried.
  • Post ALL relevant logs (LCPDFR.log, Scripthook.log, ScriptHookDotNet.log, AdvancedHook.log).
  • Include as much information as possible.
  • Post your system specifications.
  • Post what other mods you are using. This includes car and script mods.

Please note that failure to follow these instructions may cause this thread to be closed.

All the steps that you told me to follow and all the suggestions that you gave me still did not work. I still get the same error message when i load up the game. I have even followed the Instillation Manual that was included with the LCPDFR v1.0c Manual download. I am at a loss for what i should do now.

Some solutions that i have tried in order to fix this problem are following the instructions on the LCPDFR v1.0c Manual Installation Manual, i have also tried to use both automatic downloads, I have tried to use the xlive LCPDFR ASI Installer as opposed to the dsound installer, I have tried to delete all of the other mods i had previously downloaded to help make my experience better and finally I have tried to follow your instructions to try and solve the problem.

The logs that i can access in-game mostly include the finding of the other mods that do work, however not LCPDFR, as that is the only one that appears to not work at all.
"Error during Tick in script 'LCPDFR_Loader.Loader':

Sytem.IO.IOException. The process cannot access the file 'C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappscommon Grand Theft Auto IVGTAIVLCPD First Response.dll' because it is being used by another process.

at LCPDFR_Loader.Loader.Loader_Tick (Object sender, EventArgs e)

at GTA.Script.TryTick ()

at GTA.Script.DoTick ()

at GTA.ScriptThread.OnTick ()"

All of that information inside the parentheses (above) is the word for word transcription of the information presented to me after hitting the ` button and bringing up the logs. I have no idea what any of those phrases and commands mean, but i hope that you or someone else from the LCPDFR.com help team does know what it means.

And the only other mods i was using are in the first post on this thread.

G17 Media is the developer of LCPDFR, we host a various amounts of mods, but we do not develop all of them. I'd recommend removing all mods except LCPDFR and try again. If that doesn't work, reinstall the game with a clean copy (i.e uninstall the game, delete all left-over game files and install the game again).

I'm not too well versed with the logs, but I do know that third-party mods (especially those made for LCPDFR 0.95RC2) are extremely unstable when running in conjunction with LCPDFR 1.0.

Well not all things are perfect. But what i hate is that i'm not even sure exactly what is the problem. I would feel better if i at least knew the problem. I think that i'll try to re-install the game, then back-up the files, so that i have a back-up to copy files that i possibly deleted or messed with, or even to use with LCPDFR, if i get another error like the one i've been getting.
