Hello,

 

Im currently really annoyed because i can't seem to figure out how to fix this. Ok so basically after a long wait i managed to purchase GTA 4 on Steam, i bought the game because of LCPDFR and Els V8. The game is 100% default so it was all in working order. So i followed all instructions and installed both LCPDFR and ELS V8. When i load up the game i get about 2-5 Minutes of gameplay (somtimes longer) and then it crashed. Here is a screenshot : http://gyazo.com/bacd6e7220469bde712ee31cf32d8f0d

 

I dont have any vehicle modifications apart from one, however the crash was happening before i installed the vehicle. Ive tried running as admin, and also removing dsound.dll because i have xlive. Ive double checked and my GTA is at version 0.0.7 so it's all up to date. 

 

My specs are as follows:

Nvidia GTX 660 Ti 3GB

Intel i5-3570K CPU

8GB of Ram

 

Im confident my desktop is more than capable, it runs the game at 60FPS no problems at all even on all high settings. I was wondering if it's something to do with ELS and the default police vehicles making the game crash.

reinstall your game completely and just install lcpdfr. don't install ELS. play with lcpdfr for a while and see if the problem returns.

 

if it doesn't, install ELS and the car mod (make backups fo your original vehicles.img before modding it) and see if it brings this error up. my guess is, it's either your car mod or ELS causing the issue.

Thanks for the quick reply. I managed to Uninstall ELS and now... it seems to be working, so ELS is the cause and i still used the addon Vehicle so thats not the problem. How can i get ELS working without crashing?

Chances are, you can't. Most if not all people that use mods crash (i even crash every 15-20 minutes). so you won't be able to have ELS + car mods and have a completely crash-free game.

 

You can however try installing ELS V8 (if you already haven't got it) since unlike other versions, you can damage your car so ELS doesn't refresh you car every second. also you can change in the INI how many cars can have ELS turned on at once (i put mine at around 3) and you can also disable AI cars from using ELS (so you'll only use ELS) which may help stop crashing.
