Diagnostics Tool Stopped Working. Cannot seem to fix this issue no matter what I try.

Good afternoon,

I tried to install LCPDFR to play with a friend 2 days ago. Ever since I first tried to install it I am not able to configure LCPDFR using the Diagnostics tool because it 'stops working' whenever I try to configure the mod. I have tried using advanced mode in the diagnostics tool, running as administrator etc.. and still no luck. I know that I have all the folders and files in the correct place in my GTAIV main directory. No matter what i try to do I cannot get the diagnostics tool to work and therefore am unable to play the mod. I have freshly installed the game (steam copy) 2 times in the last day to try and get this working by using the manual install and the automatic install and neither of them can get this thing working.

Today however I re-installed a 3rd time and I now get "ERROR In script LCPDFR_Loader.Loader" the second I enter the game.

I have no clue what to do but I have attached the LCPDFR.Log file and the AdvancedHook.Log file to this thread. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Can nobody find a solution to this problem?

Please do the following:

  • Make sure you aren't using a crack - We don't support cracks
  • Update GTA IV to 1.0.7.0 (the latest version of the game, or 1.1.2.0 for EFLC) - This sometimes fixes a wide variety of issues
  • Make sure that you run the game as an administrator.
  • Make sure that your GTA IV root folder (and every subdirectory) is not set to "read-only"
  • Ensure that ScriptHook.dll, ScriptHookDotNet.asi and Dsound.dll OR Xlive.dll are in the GTA IV ROOT folder
  • Ensure that there is a folder titled 'LCPDFR' in the ROOT GTA IV folder.
  • Check that all the above files exist, if they do not, reinstall LCPDFR with the MANUAL installation.
  • Ensure that you are using up to date versions of every LCPDFR dependency and LCPDFR itself.
  • Install these: .Net Framework 4.5Microsoft Visual C++ Redist 2012

Keep in mind that this seems to be a fairly common error.

Hey mate!

I installed the latest framework even though I already had it just to make sure. I then decided to uninstall the game from my D drive and install it on my C drive where my operating system etc.. is installed on, The C drive Im using is also an SSD. This seemed to have fixed it! I have no clue how but I appreciate your help so much. Thanks once again!
