Model textures not changing when edited in OpenIV.

Featured Replies

Hey, so I have recently been working on a Palm Bay Police Department Impala which I have completed w/ pics in the photo gallery. I got bored a couple of nights ago and tried to change the color or the lights on the car and for some reason they will not change. I am changing the correct image that the lightbar uses for it's light textures, but it just doesn't change color, including in game. I have tried changing every light texture file I have on the cars with no return. So my question is, is there a way that I am somehow saving the textures to the actual model without knowing it, rendering the change of textures useless?

Thank you,

HDgamerzPC

Try using SparkIV, if that doesnt work then it's probably a texture issue. Hope this helped a bit.

I've had this problem a couple of time before with another model. I tried changing the license plate texture that came with the model and it doesn't change. I'm thinking it's a glitch in the model.

What model did you use by chance?

If SparkIV didnt fix it, it's likely that it's an error in something like the texture itself, maybe mapping, a corrupted file or something. I have never experienced a bug like this, so I dont think I can assist you further. Im guessing unless you find what's causing it, you wont be able to change the light colors. Good luck, and Cheers :].

I re-imported the vehicle with the new lightbar colors, re-exported it, and now it works. I have no clue why I had to do that but it's fixed. If anyone knows the answer still go ahead and let us know.

Thats good to hear, well I would put this in a list of bug fixes or something, it sounds like a problem many people might stumble upon. Glad you got the problem fixed, Cheers :].
