Update GTA IV http://support.rockstargames.com/entries/484496-grand-theft-auto-iv-patch-7-title-update-v-1-0-7-0-english-1-0-6-1-russian-1-0-5-2-japanese

C++ ScriptHook is out of date, are you using the one included with the installer?

Make sure you run GTA as administrator or disable UAC.

You are using the WRONG right theme!

If you are someone like who's in love with patch 1.0.4.0 then this is the cacrifice you have to make....

Ok here's the trick...

  • First keep your current C++ scripthook, the one that works for patch 1.0.4.0 (http://www.gta4-mods.com/tools/gta-iv-net-scripthook-v0893-beta-f2941)
  • Then download 0.95 RC1 and install it with xlive not dsound so unckeck it, and make sure it's only installing with scripthook.net, remember you already have c++ scripthook so uncheck it. Make sure to leave the LCPDFR login blank
  • After that download 0.95 Beta 1, do not instal it on GTA IV folder but somewhere that you could open it later(like a new folder on your desktop)
  • Now open that folder on your desktop take AdvancedHook.dll and put it in your GTA IV folder and FirstResponse.ini and put it in your script folder and that's it

Now I haven't test it out all the way yet, but all I know is that you can't arrest nobody anymore, you could shoot them or call for backup so they could arrest them, the loading get on my nerve sometimes, traffic stop works, for the callout, I don't know if all of them works but you could test it out for yourself. It take between 5 to 15 second to load when you are going on duty but after that it works fine for me.

Here's a Video

A bit off topic but since the OP asked. Depends what your FPS are like now. Normally with ENB you can expect it to cut at least 20fps from what you normally get. So it's all a matter of choice of what your willing to put up with.

I run GTAIV on Pretty much Max settings now with anywhere between 56 and 30 FPS. Depends on weather and other factors but normally it stays around 50 FPS. With ENB I can make it look sick and it hovers around 30FPS. After months of playing I prefer the smoother play without ENB.

If you want totry ENB to see how your PC copes download it and just install the .dll file from ENB. This will give you some effects like ultra reflections and give you an idea of how your PC will cope.

To revert back all you need do is remove that file and......(note: installing that file and running the game will make ENB write it's own default .ini file) remove the newly generated .ini file as well. tbh if you forget and leave the .ini behind it wont cause any issues anyway. I just like to be tidy :)

Oh and if your going to upgrade, Ram is pretty cheap. Try and get 6GB instead of 3GB. For the extra cash it's a worthwhile upgrade.
