Game crash ! Don't know what to do.

Featured Replies

I bought the game and for the first 2 days it worked fine. I installed LCPDFR and trainer then a couple skins and cars. Worked fine so I installed new skins. After maybe an hour it crashed and every since it's been crashing at loadings screen. I have made sure to delete hidden files, any files with the games , un-installed , re-installed , verify the game integretiy. I have no other idea of what to do. I am using steam

Did you modify any vehicles? If so, that could be the problem. Try uninstalling them, running the game and seeing if it starts and runs properly, and then re-installing them and seeing if they cause the crash. If you modify any vehicles you have in car parking spaces at safehouses, that can cause crashes.

I did add some skins and Els and all that but I deleted all files that I could see and re-downloaded GTA Iv I dont understand why they would still be there. Also I had just got the game there were no parked cars there. I only used the trainer to spawn them.

Crash often occurs due to poor car model.
For example, Ford Mondeo 2014 from britishpolicemods crashes the game... so does majority of his other mods.. whereas DoubleDoppler's mods work perfectly.
So it all depends on what cars you're using.

Yea thats the thing I deleted ALL files completely and re-installed the game so I dont know how to know if the cars I perviously installed are still there.. If thats whats causing the problem. I have teamviewer and teamspeak if you dont mind helping me out.

Please do the following:
Make sure you aren't using a crack - We don't support cracks
Update GTA IV to 1.0.7.0 (the latest version of the game, or 1.1.2.0 for EFLC) - This sometimes fixes a wide variety of issues
Make sure that you run the game as an administrator.
Make sure that your GTA IV root folder (and every subdirectory) is not set to "read-only"
Ensure that ScriptHook.dll, ScriptHookDotNet.asi and Dsound.dll OR Xlive.dll are in the GTA IV ROOT folder
Ensure that there is a folder titled 'LCPDFR' in the ROOT GTA IV folder.
Check that all the above files exist, if they do not, reinstall LCPDFR with the MANUAL installation.
Ensure that you are using up to date versions of every LCPDFR dependency and LCPDFR itself.
Install these: .Net Framework 4.5, Microsoft Visual C++ Redist 2012

If your problem has been solved after following these basic instructions, hit 'Mark Solved' next to this post.

If not, please now reply to this thread, and make sure that you do the following:
Give a clear, detailed description of the problem.
Explain any circumstances surrounding the problem.
State what solutions you have tried.
Post ALL relevant logs (LCPDFR.log, Scripthook.log, ScriptHookDotNet.log, AdvancedHook.log).
Include as much information as possible.
Post your system specifications.
Post what other mods you are using. This includes car and script mods.
