What is this sound (in police car) - help me out!

That lets you know the keys is in the ignition. must be a Ford product.

 It not just Ford, I drive and old Mazda (yes laugh it up) and it also dose this, but yeah. Its just letting you know that keys are still in the ignition

The three-toned jingle is Ford's miscellaneous warning signal. Chimes 5 times when driver's seatbelt is not fastened after the engine is started, chimes if the lights are still on when the key is out and door is open, chimes if the key's in when the door's opened...
