Need a hand with wig wags

Featured Replies

I am just finishing up a model & texture, and already have a lightbar, laptop, radio, ect. all set & working on the cvpi I'm making. I simply cannot seem to figure out the wig wag lights, I have tried every tutorial & form of help I can seek, and I cannot seem to get them working properly.

I'm simply looking for normal flashing head & tail lights, and if at all possible, for the reverse lights to both flash blue

If anyone knows how to map & get the wig wags working correctly & would be willing to take a look & help out please PM me

Okay, I won't directly PM you but I will respond. :)

For the flashing wig wags, what you are going to want to do is deselect the entire car in the hierarchy, except for the light you want to be wigwagged. You will go into Polygon mode (black lines+red dots on the objects) and select that headlight to do this.

After you have selected the light, you are going to want to go into Create-->Copy the selected light, or you can have highlighted objects only selected in the bottom right and then copy.

After you have copied that light, you can deselect and hide the original light, so you can see the new one, the wigwag one. You will rename the wig wag one to either extra_5 or extra_6, which are both wig wag lights.

------------------------------------------------------------

For the different color, I believe you just need an illuminated blue texture, with the emerglights_emis texture so that it lights up. You will just apply that texture to the wigwagged light. There was a tutorial on here for texturing and templating, I'll try and look for it later.

You might not have to texture it yourself, you may be able to just replace the texture.

I hope that helps atleast a tad bit. If not, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

I worked though the taillights, to get them to flash, but the flash isn't a "clean" flash per say, it is jittery when the lights flash which would leave me to believe I would need to just re do it & move the copy of the tail lights slightly out from the originals, but as true with the tail lights & headlights, I get an error when exporting if they're moved & when the wft is placed into OpenIV, it comes up with 'No'

Any time I try to attach the headlights to extra 5 & extra 6, they come up as invisible & create pretty much a hole right where the headlights are to see into the engine.

If it's any help, the headlight_l0 for left & right, aren't only the headlights themselves, it includes the indicators, & when deselected, headlights & indicators go away

Make sure your "Extra_5_L0 & Extra_6_L0" is a COPY. Make sure you move them outward so they do not interfere with the originals. Which is probably why the look like they do.

How can I make wig wags on a slicktop? Because it doesn't have an extra_5 and extra_6.

Not trying to backseat moderate, but you're kinda thread hijacking/graveyard posting.

Anyways, create two dummy helpers called extra_5 and extra5 (do the same for extra_6 and extra6). Drag extra5 into extra_5, and create your wig-wags. Name them extra5_L0 (and extra6_L0 accordingly), and drag those into the extra5 (or extra6) dummy.
