Grand Theft Auto IV | General Installation

Featured Replies

Alright, so I guess it's hard to get GTA IV to work on Windows 8?

Here's some basic information about the computer that I'll be 'trying' to install GTA IV on:

Manufacturer: TOSHIBA

Model: Satellite C875D

Processor: AMD A4-4300M APU with Radeon HD Graphics 2.50 GHz

Installed memory (RAM): 4.00 GB (3.46 usable)

System type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor

WINDOWS EDITION

>WINDOWS 8

What I mainly what to know is, what else am I supposed to download and everything so I can actually get LCPDFR up and running?

It really isn't difficult to get it working.

You just have to install gta like normal, and then you need the latest Games for Windows Live client. The one that normally comes with GTA is outdated and doesn't work with Win 8.

However, I would be very hesitant about trying to play GTA on they laptop. That's not a gaming laptop in any sense of the word and it doesn't have a dedicated graphics card, from what I could see online. You'll have to settle with running GTA on the lowest settings, and you probably won't be able to mod it much.
