Need help with starting a YT channel

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I'm starting a YT channel for gaming, but I'm having a hard time with a few things:

A YT name
Images for YT(Background, display, cover)
Game idea's, games that aren't very popular, but would get a few views.
Intro

And if you can help in any other way, please tell me biggrin.png

Well first off I think you mean to say you all ready know how to make a Youtube channel but you should do what YOU want to do. After all it is YOUR channel. But i see you want our opinion make it something catchy. Bay Area Buggs and YOTELX just used ramdom stuff with meaning to them. But because they relase HIGH QULITY VIDEO with GREAT SOUnd everything worked out for them. You might want to PM them and ask for some advise.

And GOOD LUCK can't wait to see your videos!!!!

I can take my username for example: I created a Youtube account a long time ago and I had a hard time coming up with a good name for my channel, but nevertheless I proceeded to the registration process. As luck would have it, the captcha was "ineseri". There you have it! May just have been dumb luck, but that's how I came up with it.
I'd worry about profile background, covers etc when you have gained some traction with your videos. They don't really matter that much when you start out, people come to your channel to watch videos, not looking at the pretty pictures.
Also, create your own "style", we have seen the gaming channels before. The trick is to have something unique that will make people look at your videos. Same goes with creating a intro, you do not need a fancy one, or one at all when you start out. Worry about good video content. Rest comes later naturally.

Invenio, Investigatio, Imperium

I hope you start a YT channel it is loads of fun! Here is mine: http://www.youtube.com/user/XPZKModzHD

Picking a Good YT Name:
My YouTube name is XPZKModzHD because I was going to have my channel based around nothing but mods. But i ended up buying a cheap capture card and doing GTA V. Basicly Think about what you wan't your channel to be about.

Picking Games to Play:
Only do videos on your channel because YOU wan't to. Sure if you get some subscribers and they wan't you to play a game then go for it. But start out doing what you want to do, If you make a video with commentary(If you plan on it) and you don't enjoy the game people will notice. Making them more likely to click away.

Making a professional Intro:
In my opinion you don't need a good intro. A famous YouTube that goes by SpiersTheAmazingHD has an intro but never uses it. When i start my GTA V videos i just Welcome my subscribers with my slogan "Hello all my crazy modderz!" Then on the screen is my Username and a GTA V logo. You really don't need much.
However you can use http://www.flixpress.com/ to get free intros and you customize them on the site. I'm not sure how good your editing skills are but if you use Sony Vegas you can download a template into and edit it to your liking.
