I been experiencing a fatal error code quite a lot recently I have searched for a topic similar to this issue and so far people can only say it's modded cars ect however I have no in game mods but from lcpdfr v1.0 I have installed the hot fix however this has not resolved the issue my computer is more than capable of running this game the auto graphics selection is high although in medium and low the problem still occurs the error isn't producing any patterns like at certain stops or pursuits it will randomly cut out at anytime this issue is on both the steam version and also off the disc version I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game this to makes no difference current computer system is windows 8 hope this info helps

How often does the crashes occur? 

Every time I play normally after 10-15 mins gameplay it redirects me to restart the game when I do so its fine for another quarter hour I have no cars saved in the parking space that's also one of the other suggestions of which a fatal crash occurs

It sounds to me like it is a normal crash. I suggest lowering your in-game settings and remove any mods you don't really need. 

well that is the thing ive turned my in game settings from auto and manually changed them to medium and also i have no mods installed that seemed to be the only other solution for others that have had the same issue

You said you could play for 45 mins? I'd say that is pretty good really. I'm kind of out of options, since this could just be your system not liking GTA IV :/

Only 10-15 minutes normally however I think I may have sorted it now running the game without the patch seems to be making it run a lot longer and smoother now I've been playing for nearly 2 hours and so far it hasn't crashed out at all touch wood it stays like this thank you for your help much appreciated!

did you just say that you run it without the patch? you need the updated patch to run LCPDFR. What Patch you are using at the moment?

Sorry I didn't make that clear I am using the lcpdfr hotfix patch but not the game patch 1.0.7.0 I believe is the latest one
