Hey.

I have GTA IV vanilla (no DLC or other mods) and have tried to install the LCPDFR 1.0a mod via the automatic installer + the manual hotfix.

I was originally getting DEP errors but after having got rid of them the game gets no further than the rockstar log-in. I sign in, nothing and 'GTA IV has stopped working' error pops up after a few seconds.

The game runs fine clean from Steam. All supporting programs and stuff is up to date to my knowledge.

I have uninstalled the game + mod and re-installed, to no avail.

Any helpful advice is welcome, already lost a Sunday evening trying to figure this out, getting a bit frustrated since I basically picked up GTA IV again for PC for the mod.

Thanks in advance. :)

Reinstall LCPDFR manually, make sure you read the installation guide to the letter. Also, Go to the GTA IV folder, right click on GTAIV.exe, Properties, Compatibility and select 'Run this program as administrator', do the same exact thing to the LaunchGTAIV.exe.

Also, download and extract Scripthook.dll and ScripthookDotNet.asi files to your GTA IV directory. (http://www.hazardx.com/details.php?file=83)

Right, back.

I followed the manual install instructions to the letter as requested, + your instructions. Ran the diagnostic tool first, it came back with the same results, apparently not recognising an LCPDFR install and saying the scripthook is found but out of fate, which is odd because I've done as instructed.

Tried to launch the game thinking maybe the tool was wrong (can't hurt to try) and the game just pops up with GTA IV stopped working.

Also loaded the new vanilla install I did again this morning, and again, vanilla runs fine.

I used the xlive.dll file (sounded like the more stable one, recommended etc).

I've used the diagnostic again to no avail.

I honestly at this point have no idea what the issue is. I followed your instructions to try and set the .exes as run on administrator but I am the admin and only account on this machine anyway, so UAC is off, not sure if that honestly makes a difference?

Out of ideas, any help's appreciated but if this is just some mysterious fault that is alluding solution at least we tried!

Thanks.
