DEP issues at startup

Featured Replies

Hello,

I just got this game and downloaded the new LCPDFR 1.0 available here on this site. I used the manual install. I check around and noticed a lot of people are having the same issue trying to start the game and DEP is closing the program. I have done all the recomended steps and read the forums for this issue. I have not been able to find a solution as of yet... I was wondering if anyone has a solution?

I launched the game running as admin, DEP closed it. disabled DEP and tried again, same issue. reinstalled and same issue. All the required files are there. Any ideas?

I have just disabled the DEP... I can try and disable Kaspersky. Will it help if I disable it?

Kaspersky is known to be one of the troublesome ones. Can you live without it and use another one? (MS Security Essentials, AVG, Avast etc)

I have disabled DEP and Kaspersky, same iussue at startup just after i log onto social club.

Go to the GTA IV folder, right click on GTAIV.exe, Properties, Compatibility and select 'Run this program as administrator', do the same exact thing to the LaunchGTAIV.exe.

did that, still have same problem even running from directory and steam

also to note, I ran the GATIV application which is the executable. There is also a GATIV.exe which is a security catalog...

Hm... That is really strange. I don't really know what to do... I would suggest removing Kaspersky all together and use another software.

And no, the file that you are reffering to is called "GTAIV.exe.cat"
