GTA EFLC not starting up

Featured Replies

Hello, I had installed LCPDFR 1.0 about a week ago and everytthing was working fine. I decided to install an enb, but it ended up making my game mess up. So I decided to to delete everything and reinstall all my mods with a fresh install of EFLC. Since I've reinstalled everything, everytime I try to start EFLC nothing happens, it does't start up. No screen flickers, nothing in the task manager, etc. I've redownloaded the game about 6 times already, defragmented my pc, cleaned all old files, reinstalled the gamestop client but still nothing happens. Before I put any mods into the game, I made a copy of it and also tried to play it modless and it works. So for seem reason it is messing up between installing lcpdfr and put my custom cars in. I doubt it is the cars since I have usded them before. It is a legal copy of the game and I installed lcpdfr using the automatic install

I would recommend you using the manual installation package instead, since some users have reported that it is more stable than the automatic one.

Anyway, are you running your game as administrator and in compability mode? What operating system are you using?

Yes I am running it as administator. And i am using Windows 7 Professional without any compatibility mode. To do the manual installation, should I start from vanilla again or just use the remove lcpdfr feature, and then reinstall it manually?

Sorry, before I saw your reply I just used the automated uninstaller. However, I tried to launch the game without lcpdfr to see what would happen and it worked. I then manual installed it and tried to launch it but it would not start. So now I know it defintely has something to do with my install

Yes, I actually had a feeling something like this would happen, since this about the 6th time I've been through this, so I made a backup of the game just in case lol. I will delete this EFLC and then create a new one using the backup.

So i tried it with only the lcpdfr files and no other mods but it wouldn't start up:/ Before I put the lcpdfr files in it though, I launched it to make sure it wasn't something wrong with the backup and it launched

Hm, make sure that you are running the game as administrator after reinstalling the game. Also, could I see a screenshot of your GTA IV folder, please?

I don't know if this will help, but I also tried putting in each file one at a time and then trying to start it up. It continued starting up and working until I got to ScriptHook.dll and the AdvancedHookInit.asi. When I got to ScriptHook.dll the game would start but then immediately crash. With AdvancedHooknit.asi it would not do anything. Something I didn't notice before when I tried it was the text file for AdvancedHook that was created. When I look in it, it stated
