Game Will Not Load

Featured Replies

I've just installed 1.0 of the mod and tried to run the game, but when I click to play it doesn't do so, just loads up the command prompt when you start the game and nothing happens, what can I do to fix this?

By the way last week I had to re-install my Windows OS because a R* Developer has said that I can't update IV because a file called KERNS.dll was corrupt and there was no way to fix it, that file was part of my OS.

If there is any other info that I need to speak on like my PC specs just say but I don't know if it'll be relevant to the situation.

Is it a legal copy of the game? Steam/Retail? Are you running the game as administrator? Using the latest patch? What mods are you using? List them please. Could you run the diag tool ('?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>) and post the generated log here? What operating system are you using (Windows XP is NOT supported)? Make sure that LCPDFR 0.95 is removed (http://www.lcpdfr.com/page/tutorials/index.action/_/script-data-file-modification-tutorials/how-to-uninstall-lcpdfr-r19).

Running the game as administrator: Go to the GTA IV folder, right click on GTAIV.exe, Properties, Compatibility and select 'Run this program as administrator', do the same exact thing to the LaunchGTAIV.exe.

I clicked the diag link and said it does not work for 1.0 issue reports.

My Operating System is Windows 7 64bit SP1.

My copy of IV is a legal version for Windows, not Steam.

And I run all my games as Admin.

It's a clean install.

The game loaded okay before the mod install, with them links you provided to install, the mod made sure that I had to have them installed, I installed them with no complications.

But, when I re-installed my Operating System I did have trouble installing certain .NET Frameworks but I solved them, before the game didn't run, just a black screen after the intros, installing the .NET Frameworks fixed that.

I hope this helps, anything else let me know.

I now installed the updated version with the fixes, 1.0a, but the same thing keeps coming up.

I think it MIGHT have something to do with the ASI loader (dsound file) As I did have a lot of problem with this in the past.
