Skinning / Template help...

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have an issue that I hope somebody can help with.

I've DL'ed a towtruck that I'd like to reskin, but it did not come with a template.

I've not been able to track down the author/releaser, though the truck was at one time here on this site.

If anyone has found or made a template for the this truck, I would greatly appreciate a link to it please.

Truck is a Ford f-550 Towtruck, and is multiple livery enabled

Link for the truck itself is as follows:

http://gta.com.ua/file_gta4_details.phtml?id=3627

I'm rather new to skinning, and haven't a clue how to make the template myself. Failing an existing template, instructions on how I could make one myself, would be appreciated just as much.

Thanks in advance to any assistance!!

Here is a .rar file containing all the textures used: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/41501075/GTA%20IV/Ford%20f350%20Tow%20Truck/textures.rar

When you have finished editing them use SparkIV and browse the the vehicles.img and double click on the trucks texture file to replace the original textures with the edited versions. (file is called fbi.wtd by default).

Hope this all helps, feel free to message me or reply if you need any more help.

Thanks Uniqe, I appreciate your help.

My main issue, unfortunately, is I'm wanting to make new paintjobs for the truck, but it is near impossible to do without the template that the author failed to include with the model. I even DL'ed zmodeler in the hopes that I may find some way to make my own template there, but I can't get it to work
