Someone to Help me get Started

Having some trouble

 

 

  I have the game installed and LCPDFR and it is working . I cant get my Speed radar to work as well as it seems i cant find a menu on it so if you die as a cop you spawn at the hospital with no car nothing . I played the game alot on PS2 but i seen this online and it looked awsome . I would love to join a group . I am Canadian so RCMP would be cool for cars yet all i could get installed it  a crown vic(Only one with RCMP logo's )and a cpl suv's but cant seem to get anything else running and need some help .

LCPDFR does not have a built-in speed-radar, that's a seperate mod. That and more can be found in this thread (>www.lcpdfr.com/topic/12353-list-of-mods-to-use-with-lcpdfr-with-links/). 

 

You would be interested in: SpeedReader Radar Script (found in the thread above) and also Simple Native Trainer, to teleport and spawn cars (http://www.gta4-mods.com/script/simple-trainer-version-65-f2115). 

 

As for the RCMP, I'm sure there is one our, or another communitiy, download section.

Well that helps a lot .  I knew that the speed radar is a mod but it wont work on the game ? How do I know if my GTA is up to date ? I downloaded the link but how do you check to see if it is working ? I will try to reading install again to see if I loaded it wrong . Thanks for the help man !

Always read the readme file that comes with all mods. It will tell you everything. 

 

For the latest version of the game, go here (http://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200145406-Grand-Theft-Auto-IV-Patch-7-Title-Update-v-1-0-7-0-English-1-0-6-1-Russian-1-0-5-2-Japanese-). If you have the steam version, it's not needed,

I do have it through Steam account so what your saying is I don't need the update ? I was playing last night and I hit Alt P by accident well in LCPDFR mode and it crashed the game? Not sure y but it did .

What are your computer specs? Could be that your computer is not powerful enough, GTA IV is a very demanding game, even without mods.

I changed all my files like Scripthook.dll to adobe Eeeeekk!!  How do i change them back even my safe file of the game changed ? How do i change them back ? Not good at all. Please tell me i can change it back.

But... how? You don't actually need to do something with these files, but follow this tutorial to change them back (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2630-default-programs-set-programs-default-associations.html). 

 

From what I've heard about the  GTX 280 Graphics card ,is that it sucks power and get's really hot. So that could be the issue here. Also, Windows Vista is known to cause troubles. Actually, Vista is trouble. 

 

Are you launching the game trough steam?

I got it fixed I also deleted windows vista and upgraded to Windows 7 so well see if that helps .
