ENB problems

Featured Replies

Guys, I've tried 3 or 4 different ENBs and none of them work. My game keeps crashing before it even gets to the loading game selection screen (where you pick original or EFLC). I made sure to download ENB's compatible with 1.07 since I have Steam but I can't figure it out. I have the mod that deletes the opening Rockstar logo's, could that be the problem? One of the versions I tried actually made it to the selection screen but thats where it crashed.

Edit: Oh and I also have InjectSMAA mod also

Do you have a backup version of GTA IV?

I've made backups of files ENB replaces. Each ENB that I've tried and had crash, I just replace original files and the game works fine, so its no rush to figure out my problem since I'm still able to play the game without it.

I'm getting ready to try ChinaGreenElvis' ENB

Maybe InjectSMAA is crashing your game?

Thought so, but I took the files out and it still crashes.

Just tried ChineGreenElvis', and that ENB crashes before it gets to main screen also.

Gonna give up for now and try icehancer

I know for sure that Vucko 6.0, Game4video and ChineGreenElvis ENBs are working because I used them before. So I think you should do a clean installation of the game because maybe you installed something and it messed up the game, since you are using steam version updating stuff is not going to an issue. If you have more HDD space you should backup the whole game just in case you get that kind of problems again.

I give up. I was never meant to run ENB. I've tried this in the past and couldn't get any of them to work, and today I've tried a fresh install, copy and pasted ENB files and still crashes before main screen. Fudge this  :wallbash:  :wallbash:  :wallbash:  :wallbash:

So you have re-downloaded the game and still receiving CTDs with ENB?

Does your game work fine without ENB?

What are your system specifications?
Do you have any on-screen-display software running like MSI Afterburner?

Yup, redownloaded the game via Steam. Reinstalled all my LCPD:FR mods and it works flawlessly. As soon as I copy the ENB folders/files to their respective places, it crashes before/at the main menu.

System specs: Q6600 2.4ghz quadcore, ATI 5870 1GB video card, 4GB ram. MSI Afterburner may be on, I'll turn that off
