I just got the game and i tried this and this error came up.

If anybody can please help me.

1. You need to have the latest version of the game

2. The game install directory needs to be set to read/write and not just "Read Only" (Move your entire GTA IV installation to the desktop, right click the folder > properties and untick "read only" and then move it back to the original location. 

3. You need to run the installer as an Administrator (right-click > Run as Administrator)

It worked but my GTA won't launch thanks though. :/
