I'm trying to get the Nstockade and the Pstockade to have the same hood view as the Polpatriot but no matter what I do the view is off by quite alot. If anyone is able to help that would be awesome

I have no idea but i would say install first person view its better than hood view.

Go into your vehicles.ide and copy and paste the polpatriot line to the stockade lines.

GTAIV > Common > Data > vehicles.ide

that only affect the handling not the camera

No it won't, it will fix the view. To change the handling of the car, you go to handling.dat. If you do not believe me just make a backup but I am sure that it will work.

The big one under cars. Should look something like this:

police, police, car, POLICE, POLICE, VEH@STD, VEH@STD_RI1, 100, 999, 0.2345, 0.2345, 0.2, 2, 1.0 ,1, ext_requi+ext_strong+livery

Vehicles.ide does not alter camera views at all.  Vehicles.ide only controls (in order of appearance in a car string): handling name ID, car name, animation sets, frequency of appearance, max number visible, wheel radius, dirt levels, LOD settings, misc front/rear settings and car flags.  I tested myself and confirmed there was no camera difference whatsoever when replacing data entries for the Nstockade with those of the patriot (excluding game name ID's).

I'm sorry, I am in the wrong here. If the vehicles.ide doesn't work then I wouldn't know. Again, I apologize.

No worry, happens to everyone.

@OP

I as well haven't found any files that are known for changing the first person view.

I opened up vehOff.csv and it appears to have possible camera coordinates but I really have no idea what the numbers do, specifically.

EDIT: double ninja'd

If you are feeling adventurous, I might be able to direct you to the correct lines and possibly the correct numbers but that's all I can do without digging into it for a long time.

I believe that is is the one you want to focus on:

VEHICLE nstockade FIELD BONNET_FWD POS

The numbers following POS will be X, Y, and Z co-ords but not necessarily in that order.  The numbers following ANGLES will refer to the angle at which the camera faces, and FOV is just field of view.

EDIT:  I would also hesitate to copy in the numbers from the polpatriot because the stockade and patriot are at completely different heights so the camera is likely to be in the ground.  However, the horizontal and fwd/bwd co-ords may be correct (if that's the view you want).

Do copy the entire polpatriot line only if you are going to use the same car in those other slots. Like two different Tahoes.

i did that before and what it had done is put the camera in the front seat and not the hood

not sure what the corresponding axis is but what i've found is it's Horizontal-depth-vertical
