ELS Color Reflection

Featured Replies

How can I change the color reflection of the lightbars on ELS? I got the standard blue LEDs but the reflection is mostly red.

Not sure if it will change ELS light but you could try editing \common\data\visualSettings.dat

# car.siren.color 1.00 0.20 0.00

car.siren.color.red 1.00

car.siren.color.green 0.20

car.siren.color.blue 0.00

# car.siren.color2 0.00 1.00 2.00

car.siren.color2.red 0.00

car.siren.color2.green 1.00

car.siren.color2.blue 2.00

car.siren.intensity 20.00

car.siren.falloffMax 14.00

car.siren.innerConeAngle 30.00

car.siren.outerConeAngle 60.00

You are using the WRONG right theme!

Flashing LED lightbar in British configuration

1adam3 there is a file called ELS.ini that you can edit, in that file it will tell you what number is for what color reflection. Just put the right color in for the particular light on the lightbar that you wish to change.

I have a file named ELS.ASI in myGTAIV root folder but no .ini . Where would this file be located at?

The file should be in your root folder for GTAIV. If you don't have it, then ELS just uses its default settings. If you are using V6, just look in the zip file, for ELS.INI and copy it to your root directory. After its there you can edit it with wordpad and change the settings.

I found it, thanks for the help, pal!

I've been seeing this too, so I'll have to make a crack at it today. Thankfully today's my day off.

Just an added bit of info related to lights and the ELS .ini file: I wanted to change my reflection colours as well. But I also found it annoying that 2 blocks away the reflections were still bouncing of the walls so if you didn't know allready Range_LightsP = will adjust the distance of the effect. Higher number to make the effect spread further lower to reduce it.

Intens_LightsP = relates to how bright the effect is as I found that annoying too when too bright as it's like a game trying to force a seizure out of you.

Just thought I would add that as I found it very helpfull in adjusting the overall effect to my liking.

If you are using ELS then in your GTAIV folder you will see a file called ELS.ini it is a text file.

Each emergency vehicle will have a section like this...

[ FIRETRUCK ]

Active = 1

Halogen_Only = 1

Color_Light1L = 0

Color_Light2L = 0

Color_Light3R = 0

Color_Light4R = 0

Color_Light7L = 3

Color_Light8C = 3

Color_Light9R = 3

Offst_SLights = 3

the numbers at the end are the ones you need to change. (note for some reason it doesn't always work on some models)

this is what the numbers mean..

// Red 0

// Blue 1

// White 2

// Amber 3

// Green 4

If you notice from what I showed you the firetruck reflects red and amber 0 and 3

Try changing the 0 to 1 on your vehicle that you want to reflect blue.

And I so wish I had found out all this months and months ago instead of a few weeks ago :)
