I'm running Win7 and it's not matter what OS you using it's matter you're computer specs...

hmm..,,,,i heard that running XPpro,sp3  and a video ATI card for this particular game n MOD... not so good... to have a smooth running LCPDR...ha.. pc specs pretty broad range.. (jus sayin)....and yours?

As I already answered in your previous topic, you can't run or run well GTA IV with LCPDFR on GNU/Linux, because of some required software components.

You can play some Windows Games on GNU/Linux, but it's sometimes hard to do and/or you may have lower performances, because of missing components, less better GPU drivers, and almost because the gaming solutions like WINE and its derivatives, or Crossover, for example, kind of emulate (even if they are not emulators in the strict meaning).

I don't remember trying to get GTA IV running, but some games like Borderlands, Skyrim, etc... were ok.

As I already said before, don't make the big jump if it's only for gaming ! It's not worth it at all. GNU/Linux is great for everyday tasks, multimedia consulting/editing, graphics, programmation and coding, and a lot of other activities, plus it's free and secure, but it's not a gaming OS yet. And I have to add, without any disrespect, that you don't seem ready to tweak a GNU/Linux distribution to make it runs game well. Believe me, I have some experience in learning and educating GNU/Linux to people.

You better should switch to Windows7 64bits. I don't know what you love in XP that you don't have in 7. XP SP3 will reach end of support next year, and miss a lot of good things from 7.

EDIT : I don't think that it is the right section for this thread.

Thanks**

DarthWound, I do read and try to post in the appropriated sections..if this is not the right section..my bad at the time i thought it was the right section since it is a question for support on O.S.'s exclusively to run LCPDFR,, apologies if its not. ~FicDawg

Windows7 is different from XP, yeah, but it's still a Windows OS. The basics remains.

About video card, I didn't think about the question, but I would say a 7870 AMD or 660Ti nVidia for ~$250.

For a good answer about that, you should ask on
