Every time i try to play gta iv it plays for 5 or 10 min then the screen turns black then i got to restart my computer how can i stop this.

This has been answered multiple times, and a simple 'Google' search would aid you easily, however with that said, below are a few steps to try and diagnose the issue

 

1) Turn off ELS on AI (If you're using it)

 

2) Make sure you don't have conflicting mods (remove all mods, and install them back in one at a time, tedious but it'll help I'm sure)

 

3) Turn down your graphic settings

 

4) If none of that works, it might just be your computer doesn't have enough RAM...

in the els.ini there is an option that says Ai_ELS_SP = 1"  turn the 1 into a 0

 

I had this problem. It seemed the problem was ELSv6 (i think.). I installed ELS v5 and it works for anywhere from 40 minutes - 3 hours now.
