Vehicle gravity and their listing in Simple Trainer

Featured Replies

Could you please help me with an explanation or a solution? This is a bit more than I can handle on my own.

Until now, [ELS][Addon/Replace] Los Santos County Sheriff's Department 1.0.1 has been working properly for me. In the meantime, I tried editing the files and removing the “F150” vehicle, which I successfully did.

Last night, when I noticed that my “RAM 1500” vehicle had disappeared, I didn’t understand what had happened, so I reinstalled everything—this time including the versions with blue lights as well. When I opened OpenIV, I noticed that the “SheriffPack” folder, which I was supposed to have, was missing (the vehicles were still working, but the RAM had disappeared and I didn’t understand why). Anyway, I added that folder back, along with the one with blue lights. Everything seemed fine. “SheriffPack” was already listed in the dlclist.xml, and I added the blue lights one as well—everything looked fine.

I entered the game, started playing, and noticed that with the FPIU, regardless of whether it’s RED&BLUE or just BLUE&BLUE, the front of the car lifts up when I brake. I didn’t have this issue before. I had removed the “F150” and something else because it seemed to me that it didn’t lean backward when accelerating and forward when braking. I haven’t added anything recently; I just reinstalled the addon.

I also noticed that in [ELS][Addon/Replace] San Andreas County Sheriff's Department 0.0.3, if I spawn the Tahoe or the Ford, they sometimes flip over during a turn. However, if I keep spawning the same vehicle two or three more times (this doesn’t always happen), it eventually fixes itself and stops behaving like that. (I didn’t have this problem before; it just appeared suddenly.)

And I have another question. Why is it that when I add vehicles, I can’t find all of them in Simple Trainer? Some of them appear in the police garage, and the ones that are in the police garage don’t show up in Simple Trainer.

Since I have multiple vehicle mods installed, I’ve noticed that they get added to the police garage, but then they disappear and I can’t find them either in Simple Trainer or in the police garage anymore. However, during a Code 2 or Code 3 response, I can see them in the game—I just can’t find them in the police garage or in Simple Trainer anymore.

I also tried using Addon Vehicle Spawner, but it’s exactly the same issue just to check whether the rest of the vehicles would appear in the list.

P.S: I was trying to remove some of the vehicles because they didn’t seem “realistic” to me. When I braked, they wouldn’t move at all, and when I accelerated, they didn’t move either—they were extremely stiff.

I’m using the latest versions of all plugins, etc.

The vehicles I use in the game:
- [ELS][Addon/Replace] Los Santos County Sheriff's Department 1.0.1
- [ELS][Addon/Replace] San Andreas County Sheriff's Department 0.0.3
- [ELS] [DLC] [Reflective] LSPD (Houston Police Dept) Pack 3.5
- [ELS] BCSO Pack 2.1
- [ELS] LSPD Dodge Durango + Charger REFLECTIVE! 1.0.0 (flip too)
- [32 Sirens][DLC][ELS Hybrid] LSPD Legacy Pack 1.0.1
- [ELS] Thero's State Wide Services Pack (LEO, EMS, Fire, Plus More) 1.131
- [ELS Hybrid][Addon][Reflective] NYPD Pack 1.4.0
- [ELS][DLC] FHP/SHP Pack 2.0
- [ELS] Whelen Edge 9x Mega Pack 1.0.1

If you feel that I’ve been helpful, a simple “thank you” is enough. 🙂

I think I finally managed to figure it out. I want to mention that I don’t know how to code, I’m not in this field, but after several discussions with my friend Google’s AI Module and ChatGPT, I understood that: if you have Modding DLC Pack V 1.2.0.0 installed, GTA V reads the .meta files in alphabetical order or in the order listed in dlclist.xml. If you have two cars with the same handlingName in different DLCs, the game will only use the first one it finds, ignoring the others. And I couldn’t understand why, from one day to the next, some of my cars would stop working properly when I added others. I went into handling.meta and changed the name from <handlingName>16fpiu</handlingName> to something unique, for example: <handlingName>202016fpiu</handlingName>. I saved and closed it, then I went into vehicles.meta and changed the name from <handlingId>16fpiu</handlingId> to <handlingId>202016fpiu</handlingId>. I saved and closed it, then I entered the game and it worked. That’s what I did for literally all the car mods I have installed, to prevent this from happening again in the future.

That doesn’t mean it worked for all the cars. I noticed that I have three cars whose code needs to be slightly modified, because this method didn’t work for them.\

I forgot to tell you that I also disabled the “useless” codes (that aren’t used by any car in handling.meta if they were extra) by commenting them out using <!-- bla bla --> — I’m not sure how okay what I did actually is. For me, it works exactly the way I wanted.

If you want to try it yourselves, I recommend first making a backup of the files you want to edit and then starting. You’ll need attention and patience.

I wanted to share my solution with you in case you’ve run into the same issue and didn’t know what to do.

If you feel that I’ve been helpful, a simple “thank you” is enough. 🙂
