Issue with RPH & DirectX

Featured Replies

I am encountering a consistent rendering exception when running LSPDFR:

[9/6/2025 4:06:11 PM.966] Exception in OnRender: System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array.

Steps taken so far:

  • Performed a clean GPU driver removal using DDU and reinstalled the latest drivers via the NVIDIA App.

  • Verified a clean installation of LSPDFR (no additional plugins or modifications).

  • Attempted all commonly documented troubleshooting methods, but the error persists.

    Additionally, a message appears stating:

"A textbox is currently being shown in the centre of your screen. If you can't see it, RPH had an issue initializing with DirectX and your RPH console won't work either – ask for support on the RPH Discord (link at www.ragepluginhook.net)."

Any guidance on potential root causes or additional troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: I can still use the F4 command bar but the UI itself doesn't appear. (e.g. I can type "GoToPD" and it will work)

Yes, it freezes after a certain amount of time and says about the text box (which i cant see) and then i have to quit the game entirely, other times the console works when pressing f4 but the actual UI (where u type commands ect) doesn't show up

Here is the error it gives me when the entire game freezes (the notification things for on duty still appear and dissapear)

I've fixed it now, RagePluginHook fails to initialize correctly with NVIDIA Driver 581.15, but functions normally after downgrading to 581.08.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Install NVIDIA Driver 581.15.

  2. Launch GTA V with RagePluginHook + LSPDFR.

  3. RPH fails to initialize, producing the above error log and DirectX warning.

  4. Downgrade to NVIDIA Driver 581.08.

  5. Relaunch GTA V with RPH + LSPDFR — issue no longer occurs.

This appears to be a compatibility issue introduced in NVIDIA Driver 581.15. RagePluginHook works correctly on 581.08, confirming that downgrading is currently the only reliable workaround.
